Location Camera

Capture photos with high-accuracy GPS coordinates, reverse-geocoded addresses, and timestamps permanently watermarked.

Enable GPS Stamping

This will send your precise coordinates to OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo to fetch your address and weather data.

What is this tool?

The Location Camera captures photos using your device camera and stamps high-accuracy GPS coordinates, reverse-geocoded addresses, altitude, and timestamps directly onto the image canvas. It is built for site inspections, field surveys, delivery verifications, and travel documentation.

How to capture geotagged photos

  1. Grant camera and location permissions when prompted by your browser.
  2. Frame your subject using the live camera viewfinder.
  3. Allow GPS coordinates and optional reverse geocoding to acquire high accuracy.
  4. Click Capture Photo to permanently watermark the coordinates and timestamp onto your image.
  5. Download your stamped photo in high resolution.

Key Features

  • High-precision GPS coordinate capture (latitude, longitude, altitude, and accuracy radius)
  • Client-side HTML5 Canvas watermarking with customizable overlay styling
  • Reverse geocoding integration to watermark street addresses and weather conditions
  • Privacy-first architecture: photo captures remain entirely on your device

Frequently Asked Questions

What data is watermarked onto the captured photo?

The camera watermarks exact decimal GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude), altitude, location accuracy, formatted date and timestamp, and optional reverse-geocoded street address.

Are my photos uploaded to a cloud server?

No. Photos are captured and rendered directly onto a local HTML5 canvas in your browser. Your images are never transmitted to any external server.

How does reverse geocoding work on this tool?

With your explicit permission, your GPS coordinates are sent via secure HTTPS to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Open-Meteo to retrieve your address and weather. Your image itself is never sent.

Can I use this tool on my mobile phone?

Yes. It works on modern mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Android Chrome) that support the MediaDevices and Geolocation Web APIs over HTTPS.

Privacy First

Photo captures are rendered strictly on your device canvas. Images are never uploaded to any server.
